Petőcz András

Born in Budapest, on 27th August, 1959.

Reorganization of the literary and art periodical Jelenlét (Presence) in 1981. More than two years he was the chief editor of the periodical which was published by the Faculty of Humanities, Eötvös Loránd University of Sciences and soon became a significant forum on the contemporary literature.

Graduated from Eötvös Loránd University of Sciences in 1986 (studied Hungarian Literature and Language-History).

After obtaining the degree he was an assistant at Gorkii State Library for a short time, then he has been working as professional writer.

1989-1990 editor of the periodical Új Írás (New Writing).
1989-1992 editor of Magyar Műhely (Hungarian Workshop), the literary periodical
which came to Hungary from Paris.

He has taken part in more international literary and art festivals, e.g. in Paris (1986), in Tarascon (France, 1988), in Marseille (1995).
He has been working as a university and college lecturer for seven years. He has at the ELTE Teachers' Training College for years.

1998- Chief editor of the Budapesti Jelenlét (Presence of Budapest).
1998. Participate in Iowa (USA) in the International Writing Program.
2001. Participate in YADDO Art Center in Saratoga Springs (USA).
2002-2006 Lives in France.
2007. Participate in Marnay-sur-seine (France), in CAMAC ART CENTER
